The post Lamar Raynard era is upon us. Who will be the Aggies starting Quarterback coming into the 2019 season? Will it be Kylil Carter, Jalen Fowler, or my personal favorite, Kinglsey Ifedi? Ifedi is a transfer from East Carolina, where he saw very minimal playing time. But now that he is in Aggie Land he is poised to be the next A&T starting Quarterback.

Born in Charlotte, N.C. … Son of Ike and Victoria Ifedi … Brothers Casey and Jamime attended ECU (Casey was a walk-on linebacker in the spring of 2013), while Jonathan signed with Georgia State as a wide receiver in 2016. Ifedi has many interest outside of football as he is a (machine) sewing enthusiast who enjoys tailoring clothes. Ifedi a lso lists making video documentaries as an interest. You can actually find a Kinglsey Ifedi documentary on Youtube. His family hails from Ogidi, Anambra (Nigeria), as he speaks fluent Igbo and has had opportunities to travel back to that region.

On the field Ifedi was a gridiron phenom in high school. Actually, calling him a phenom is blasphemous, Ifedi was a Demi God. Ifedi led the Vance Cougars his senior season with tremondous production and amazing leadership. In 2017, Ifedi piled up 5,144 total yards and 64 touchdowns for coach Aaron Brand at Vance, which ranked as the fourth-highest single-season yardage total in North Carolina prep history. As the team's leader and captain, Ifedi led the Cougars’ squad to a 13-2 record (5-1 conference) and reached the Class 4AA West Regional Championship Game before falling to Page 49-14.

How good was Ifedi? Well his best game during his senior year was 23-of-27, 367-yard passing outing and school-record seven TDs against James Island Charter School on Sept. 10. Ifedi''s biggest accomplishemnt was a 38-21 road win over three-time defending state champion and NC football dynasty Mallard Creek on Oct. 14 by completing 10-of-22 passes for 202 yards and a pair of scoring strikes, while adding two

rushing TDs.

Ifedi was listed as a three-star prospect who was rated 84th overall and 21st among dual-threat QBs nationally according to 247Sports.com Recruited by Appalachian State, East Carolina, Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Colorado State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State and Pittsburgh, as well as Ivy League programs Harvard and Yale … Graduated with a 3.70 grade point average. Ifedi would eventually choose ECU.

As you can see by the numbers Ifedi is a true dual threat. A QB with a rocket of a arm that can also gash you in the run game. When you watch the tape the first thing you notice is his arm strength and pocket presence. He can make every single throw, but his deep ball stands out. Ifedi has perfect ball placement with his throws, making throws into the tightest of windows. I personally adore how much Ifedi throws it down the field, giving his receivers chances on 50/50 balls.

I hate when people say just because someone is a dual threat QB they can't throw. That couldn't be anymore false in Ifedi's case. How does 4,000 + passing yards and 47 sound? This man tosses the football up and down the field with pure ease. Ifedi also shows the ability to read defenses. Going from his first to his second or third receiver. In the redzone is where Ifedi's legs become really dangerous. No matter if it's by design or not, Ifedi has the legs to put the ball in the end zone.

Ifedi would be the ultimate fit to take the reigns from Lamar Raynard as QB. His arm is elite, his legs are dangerous, and the kid has all the mental makeup to become the leader of a college football program. With Ifedi under the center, the offense would be unstoppable. You already have to worry about the run game with Jah- Maine Martin, but adding Ifedi's prolific arm and ability to run, it's just not fair. Ifedi would strive with this opportunity given the chance.

With weapons like Elijah Bell, Zach Leslie, and Ron Hunt, Ifedi has a chance to break some single season records.

Don't be surprised when Kingsley Ifedi wins the QB battle in the Spring, because you heard it here first on The End Zone.
