North Carolina A&T Wide Receiver Prestige Edwards is every corner backs worst nightmare, and he has yet to stepped foot on the field. The incoming freshman is already the hottest topic among Aggie football fans as we prepare for the upcoming season. To some fans he is the next Randy Moss and to other he's just a freshman who will not even touch the field this year.
But soon Mr. Edwards will shut all the haters up and this Fall. The 6'5 185 pound Wide Out from Charlotte, NC has the talent, character, and work ethic to become the next great Aggie receiver.
I followed Prestige Edwards on Twitter about right around his commitment to North Carolina A&T. Excited to see our new recruit, I went right to his HUDL account to watch his film. It was love at first sight. The combination of size, speed and raw ability made me go right to the BlueDeathValley proboards and declare that this man Prestige Edwards will be up next.
Edwards attended East Mecklemburg High School, which is notoriously known as the worst football school in North Carolina. But throughout that concrete a flower would grow, and that flower stood at 6'5 and could run like a deer.
In his senior season, despite playing for a 1-9 East Meck team that ran the Wing T, Edwards had great production as a senior as caught 34 passes for 710 yards and 7 touchdowns and 20.9 ypc. Edwards has all the tools you can want in a stand out wide receiver is big, physical and fast. .
You simply don’t see 6’5 receivers that can take the top off of the defense. Not only will he run right by you but Prestige will moss 1 or 2 guys and have those DB's looking stupid. There is no coach in there right mind that would leave single coverage on Prestige Edwards.
Wide Receiver coach, Coach Pawlowski will turn Edwards into a crsip rout runner that can run the whole route tree. Edwards also ran track in high school, which has already proven to be so beneficial to him already in his young career.
For the naysayers that say "Edwards is too skinny" shut up. 1. He's still 18 years old. 2. Even with his frame he benched 185 pounds 15 times. Which is impressive. And 3 Prestige is supremely hard worker and high character guy. Prestige Edwards is a man of pride, high confidence and humility. He's a tough nose kid who knows he will have to put the work in to be great. Some say he made the wrong choice not going D1 and playing for UCONN or Temple, some say he won't touch the field or he's this or he's that, but let me tell you this right now. Prestige Edwards will be a star from day one. Book it.
