NCAT RB MARQUELL "BABY RICKY" CARTWRIGHT IS A HUMAN TRUCK STICK!!! [ 2017 HIGHLIGHTS]

North Carolina A&T star running back  Marquell Cartwright can run past, right around or over you... but he’ll rather much run right through you. The 5’9 205 pound Red shirt Senior is a aggressive downhill runner of the football whom  leaves would be tacklers shaking in their cleats on the daily. 

Let’s do some math. Toughness plus a hard working attitude multiplied by sheer ruthlessness equals Marquell Cartwright . The man is a Human Truck Stick. He  dishes out more punishment than he takes; punishing defenders and folding them  like a couple of lawns chairs. While Cartwright is a human bulldozer he is more than just a powerful runner. He has good ball carrier vision, balance and displays good patience setting up his blocks. 

Baby Ricky Williams also has underrated quickness and speed. That agility combined with his power makes the man a handful to bring down  and near impossible  to tackle one on one.  What might be Cartwright best attribute is his  for the end zone. The back is virtually  unstoppable in goal line situations. While being a incredible runner of the football Marquell has also shown his versatility as he is a good blocker and has the ability to be a solid pass catcher  coming out of the backfield.

  In high school Marquell Cartwright was a absolute cheat code. In 2013 as a senior at T.W Andrews highschool in High Point, North Carolina Cartwright rushed for 2,650 yards and 38 TD’s. Yes. I said 38 touchdowns!!!  Alongside  current Aggie teammate and friend Quarterback Lamar Raynard, Cartwright lead T.W Andrews to a 14-1 record and a 2- AA State  championship while earning MVP honors as well. 

   After deciding  to play for North Carolina A&T alongside his QB Raynard; Marquell Cartwright  made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2014. On Sept. 27 Cartwright made his first career start as he ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries.  Cartwright was solid all that season  rushing for 414 and 7 touchdowns on 109 carries. 

After red shirting the 2015 football season Cartwright played the following hear In 2016 playing as RB 2 behind NCAT legend Tarik Cohen. Eve though Cartwright as hobbled with injuries during his 2016 campaign he still made a impact for the Aggies on both offense and special teams. 

  And then the 2017 season happened  and Cartwright is the easily the best running back in the Mid Eastern Atlantic conference.   After getting passed the theoretical tortch  from Cohen, Cartwright busted onto the scene leading the MEAC in rushing yards with 1,190 and 14 touchdowns.

A true work horse Cartwright’s 244 carries were 2nd most for a season in NCAT history. During the season Cartwright has 5 100 yard rushing games which included  a career best 176 yards in a game at Morgan State where Cartwright tee’d off a 76 yard run. 

  Just those stats alone would tell you how good of a football player Cartwright is, but I like to look at what players do in the critical games and clutch situations  and Marquell Cartwright  never disappoints. 

  After a dream season only one team stands in the way of The 2017 Aggies and football immortality and that is Grambling  State  In the 2017 Celebration Bowl as a HBCU championship is in reach. In the biggest game of the season Cartwright was stellar rushing for 110 yards and a touchdown while getting his Roger Craig on reviving for 54 yards and another touchdown.  One of the most critical plays of the game being a 20 yard reception from Cartwright during the Aggies game winning drive.

That night Cartwright willed A&T into a 21-14 win over Grambling State while earning MVP honors.  

Marquell Cartwright is writing out his own legacy at North Carolina A&T and could  finish as a top 5 career rusher by seasons end. After earning All MEAC honors last season expect for Marquell Cartwright to completely dominate in 2018 as he continues to truck weak fenders with ease.
