If you don't know who North Carolina A&T's Amir "The Flash" McNeil is, then you will real soon. After taking a red shirt season his freshman year in 2017, McNeil is primed for a breakout 2018 campaign. The 6'0 160 pound athletic corner from Laurinburg, North Carolina just pops out on film as soon as you put on the tape; but McNeil is far more than just a great athlete. That man is a FOOTBALL PLAYER. McNeil has the great technique, the play making ability and the ferociousness and toughness on the gridiron to become a real special player.
While at Scotland County High school The Flash was a star. Showing off his versatility McNeil played Corner back, Safety was a all around outstanding special teams player, blocking multiple field goal attempts and being a electrifying returner . McNeil helped Scotland County finish his senior season with a 14-1 record and a state championship title.; but however the senior was bit by the injury bug throughout his high school career and was a concern if that might affect his chances, but after a successful senior year there were no doubts.
McNeil said when he visited the campus and met with the coaches he knew he wanted to be an Aggie.
“The coaches welcomed me and made it seem like they were really interested in having me on the team,” he said. “Then when I got around the players they made me feel like family and we had fun."

The Flash is more than just your normal shut down corner, the man is versatile. In high school played both corner back and safety which just shows you just how good of a tackler he is. McNeil can blow running backs up or chase down ball carriers from across the field. If McNeil wasn't such a fundamentally sound football player, he would still be a remarkable talent as his athleticism and physical profile is ideal for a defensive back; running a 4.38 40 yard dash time and jumping 34 inch vertical.
McNeil possess the speed to keep up with small quick receivers and the physicality to strong arm bigger wide outs. He sticks to his assignments like glue and even when he gets beat he has great recovery speed to make a play on the ball. A superb talent who never quits on the
Amir McNeil plays the game of football the way it's supposed to be played; and after red shirting his freshman year The Flash will take the whole MEAC conference by storm as he expected the be the 2nd corner back on the depth chart. The elite duo of Mac McCain and Amir McNeil will keep opposing offenses up all night trying to prepare for the pair. Expect for McNeil to show up big time for the Aggies defense as they look to go for back to back undefeated seasons.
