AFC Championship Preview:
Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots
If I'm the beginning of the NFL season you were to tell me that the last four remaining quarterbacks would be named Keemun Foles Bortles and Brady I would look at you like you're insane. But we're here. I don't know how we made it here but it's time for Championship Sunday. This is True Bulls /AFC Championship preview.
Jacksonville Jaguars at New England Patriots- 3:05
After only going 3-13 last season, not anyone, except for lunatics predicted that the Jags would get this far. However when Tom Coughlin stepped on board the whole losing culture of Jacksonville seemed to vanish. The Jag is coming off of a 45-42 win at Heinz Field against the Steelers where they were dominate in the running game. Leonard Fournette totaled 3 rushing touchdowns, while Blake Bortles made every clutch throw he needed to make. While their defense is great. (Except against the run) and they have Coughlin, a certified Brady-Beater, in their corner it is very hard to even fathom Blake Bortles beating Tom Brady in at AFC championship game. But this Jaguars team could be made of that "special stuff" With elite players at all three levels of the defense, Tom Brady will have his hands full going to the air today. While the Jaguars defense could be all-time worthy, that shouldn't phase Tom Brady. Brady is 3-1 against top 3 defenses in the playoffs. (His only lost coming from the 2015 Broncos)
Ramsey vs Gronk?: it'll be interesting to see how often cornerback Jalen Ramsey will be covering Rob Gronkowski this afternoon. Gronk obviously is a huge part of what the Patriots do passing wise, and if he can get going early with some passes over the middle it'll be a long day for Ramsey. While Gronk is stronger than Ramsey, Ramsey is way faster, and has great play making abilities. He's not a small guy either, being 6'1 in height.
Unlikely X Factor: This will be a low scoring defensive struggle. These teams are evenly matched but there's a group of players that can give the Patriots the edge. The Patriot Running Backs. Dion Lewis, mike Gillesie....Rex Burkhead..I'm pretty sure I could line up at running back for the Pats and score a couple of TD's. Dion Lewis doesnt only do his damage in the running game but he is an elite receiving running back.
Put Respect on Bortles Name: Former QB Chris Sims said that Blake Bortles is only the 70th best quarterback in the NFL. Right behind Austin Davis and infront of Cody Kessler. No matter what you think of Bortles. He's 4-0 against Super Bowl winning Quarterbacks this season. There's only 4 Quarterbacks playing this weekend and Bortles is one of them.
