You will be hard pressed to find a better player in college football than North Carolina A&T’s star Wide Receiver Elijah Bell. Bell is a touchdown scoring machine. That's why I call him "The Terminator." Bell a 6’3 220 pound junior from Wheeling, West Virginia is a superb football talent who makes the game of look easy.
From crucial game breaking touchdowns to amazing one handed grabs to his the fierce competitiveness Elijah Bell should be on every NFL scouts radar.
Want to know how good Elijah Bell is at playing football? As a high school senior Bell won the West Virginia’s Randy Moss award given to the best Wide Receiver in the state….and that was his first year playing the position. Leading the state in receiving yards and touchdowns with 1,214 yards and 17 TD’s on 50 receptions .
Setting numerous single-season school records … Was named the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year for West Virginia … and was a humongous factor for Wheeling Park High School as they earned the Class AAA state championships.
With all of those accolades, you would think all of the big name coaches in college football to come running to unto Bell’s doorstep; but however EB flew under the radar and received a lot of Division II scholarships. But there was one D1 school that had the belief in Bell to offer him a scholarship, and that was North Carolina A&T.
Bell is a big and physical receiver that has speed that is exceptionally rare for someone his size. The perfect combination. Simply said he’s an athletic freak. Breaking tackles, making spectacular catches, and running possessing blazing speed; if you created your perfect wide receiver on Madden he would be an exact replica of Elijah Bell.
As a freshman then Elijah Bell made an immediate impact for A&T football. Having his first breakout game against Division I-FBS Tulsa catching five receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown on Sept. 17, becoming the first Aggie freshman to have a 100-yard receiving game since Tarik Cohen in 2013 … had three receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown on Oct. 15 at Bethune-Cookman.
Bell ended the season playing in 12 games with eight starts …earning MEAC Rookie of the Year honors as well as being named second-team All-MEAC with an impressive 35 receptions 631 receiving yards and a A&T freshman record eight touchdown receptions.
Bell has exceptionally reliable hands and what I love most about his game is how fierce and fiery of a competitor he is. The energy in the stadium raises several notches when Bell makes a big play. Bell has proven that he is the best football player on the field time after time in the most crucial moments of the game.
Following up on a very impressive freshman campaign, Bell rose his game to another level as a sophomore with 63 catches 953 yards and a North Carolina A&T football record 11 receiving touchdowns. Help previously by Denzel Keyes. As a more seasoned sophomore Bell tore up MEAC defenses all year, mossing puny corner backs, out running the opposition’s fastest guy and making the game look like he’s playing on Rookie. Bell has tremendous body control and routinely makes solid sideline catches.
Being A true number 1 receiver The big Ticket can run every route on the route tree and has exceptional hands. Think of him as one of those receivers who’s always open even when they aren’t open. Bell routinely wins jumps balls against defenders on 1 vs. 1 situations and has shown the ability to catch the ball over multiple defenders.
Bell demands double teams, as for no corner back can cover him single handedly. EB also helps A&T in the running game being a very good run blocker on the outsides. Showing how much of a competitor he is.
What makes Elijah Bell special is how he always lives up to the big moments and the big games. I don’t need to tell you how heated the NC A&T and NCCU rivalry it’s the biggest game of the year. Of course Central had no answers for Mr. Bell as he had 4 catches for 82 yards and a crucial game changing touchdown. Also having a highlight worthy one handed grab.
But not one moment was greater than the 2017 celebration bowl.
Here’s the scene. It’s Grambling vs A&T for all of the marbles in the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. Grambling 14, NCAT 14. With the game winding down with 1 minute left undefeated season, and a celebration bowl is on the line.
This is what Elijah Bell was made for.
With the clock ticking N.C. A&T quarterback Lamar Raynard fakes a spike and throws it up to our guy EB and turned it into a 15-yard pass getting the Aggies to the Tigers' 3-yard line. Bell comes up clutch again. Didn’t I tell you? After a short 2-yard gain, Raynard came up big again and pushed himself forward across the goal line with just 38 seconds left to secure his team's second HBCU national championship in three years. N.C. A&T won, 21-14.
Expect nothing but great things from Elijah Bell this upcoming 2018 season as he will shatter his own Touchdown record. The Big Ticket is a athletic freak and I would pay money to see him play football. Bell is oozing potential and has the highest ceiling in the entire MEAC.
